The much-anticipated four-day clash between Pakistan and Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval ended in a draw as inclement weather prevented any play on the final day.
Prime Minister’s XI, trailing by just 24 runs on the penultimate day, reached a total of 367-4 in 141 overs, courtesy of Matt Renshaw’s impressive unbeaten century (136 not out, 337 balls, 8 boundaries, 1 six).
The earlier highlights included Pakistan declaring their innings at 391-9, led by captain Shan Masood’s outstanding double century (201 not out, 298 balls, 14 boundaries, 1 six).
Masood was rightfully awarded the player of the match for his stellar performance, while right-arm pacer Jordan Buckingham claimed a five-wicket haul.
Looking ahead, Pakistan is set to face Australia in the first Test starting 14 December in Perth, with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 0720 PKT.
