Real Madrid has moved early in the summer market, adding defensive depth and attacking firepower as Jose Mourinho prepares for the new La Liga campaign.

Real Madrid are entering the new La Liga season determined to put two disappointing campaigns behind them after failing to secure major silverware. The Spanish giants have responded with significant changes both on and off the pitch, aiming to restore stability and challenge for domestic and European honors.

Last season proved particularly turbulent for the club. Xabi Alonso began the campaign as head coach, but struggles within the squad and inconsistent performances eventually led to his dismissal in January. B-team coach Alvaro Arbeloa was subsequently handed the responsibility but was unable to deliver a significant improvement in results.

Following the difficult season, club president Florentino Perez secured another term in office. The club then made a major coaching decision by bringing Jose Mourinho back, with the Portuguese manager expected to impose greater discipline and organization within the dressing room.

Real Madrid have also acted decisively in the transfer market. Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate and Spain international Marc Cucurella have been recruited to strengthen a defense that conceded too many goals last season.

Dumfries is expected to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold for the right-back position, while Cucurella provides additional attacking quality from the left. Konate, meanwhile, should add greater physical presence and stability to the center of defense.

The midfield has received additional reinforcement through the arrival of Bernardo Silva from Manchester City on a free transfer. Although the Portuguese midfielder is still building match fitness, his versatility could give Mourinho another creative option in midfield or on the wing.

Up front, young striker Carlos Espi has joined from Levante, while Real Madrid reportedly invested around €140 million in 19-year-old Yan Diomande. The additions provide Mourinho with greater attacking depth alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

Vinicius has also committed his future to the club, while players such as Brahim Diaz remain important options. Endrick could potentially leave on loan for regular playing time, while Rodrygo’s future may depend on his return to full fitness.

Although Real Madrid missed out on Rodri Hernandez, the midfield still features Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Bernardo Silva and Arda Guler.

Much will also depend on Jude Bellingham. If the English midfielder can consistently reproduce his best form, Real Madrid could become one of the strongest contenders for the La Liga title.
