Riyadh airport to resume domestic and international flights on Sunday

King Khalid International Airport announces new terminal arrangements following security disruptions linked to Houthi missile and drone attacks.

RIYADH: King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh is preparing to resume domestic and international flight operations on Sunday, 25 October, following disruptions linked to recent Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting the Saudi capital.

In a travel advisory issued on Saturday, airport authorities announced revised terminal arrangements for flights operated by Saudi national carriers, effective Sunday.

Under the new arrangements, Terminal 1 will serve domestic flights, while Terminal 2 will handle international services operated by national carriers.

The announcement marks a step towards restoring passenger operations at one of Saudi Arabia’s busiest aviation hubs after security-related disruptions.

Airport authorities have urged passengers holding confirmed reservations to contact their airlines before travelling to the airport. Travellers have been advised to verify their booking status and check the latest flight schedules to avoid inconvenience.

The operational update follows reported attacks by Houthi forces targeting Riyadh and other areas of Saudi Arabia, including the vicinity of King Khalid International Airport.

Saudi authorities have repeatedly reported intercepting and destroying projectiles targeting Riyadh and other regions. Civil Defence teams have also responded to incidents involving debris falling from intercepted projectiles.

Passengers have been advised to follow official airport announcements and airline notifications for further updates as operations resume.

The revised terminal arrangements are intended to help passengers navigate the airport during the restoration of services. Travellers should confirm their designated terminal directly with their airline, as flight arrangements may change in response to operational and security conditions.
