Robert Pattinson Responds to Batman Part II Training Claims

Entertainment

Robert Pattinson has addressed recent criticism surrounding his physical preparation for the upcoming superhero sequel Batman: Part II, after reports suggested he was not taking his training seriously for the role of the Caped Crusader.

The 40-year-old actor was recently accused of avoiding workouts after an old interview resurfaced in which he jokingly described gym culture as “uncool.” The comments led some fans to believe he was not fully committed to the physical demands of the role.

Speaking to GQ magazine, Pattinson strongly denied these claims and clarified that he has been training extensively. He said he worked out “every f***ing day,” sometimes twice daily, even during early morning hours, to prepare for the character.

He added that despite his efforts, he felt his appearance still did not reflect the intensity of his training. The actor also confirmed that he has set up a home gym at his Beverly Hills residence to maintain his fitness routine while preparing for filming.

Pattinson also revealed that he has not yet received an official shooting schedule for the sequel, though he mentioned hearing from stunt coordinators about potentially demanding night shoots lasting several weeks.

The upcoming film is directed by Matt Reeves and continues the darker, grounded take on Gotham introduced in the first installment. Alongside Pattinson, the cast includes Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, Charles Dance, and Sebastian Koch.

The project is currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2027, and remains one of the most anticipated superhero films in development.

Despite online speculation, Pattinson emphasized that he remains fully committed to returning as Batman and is actively preparing for the physical and emotional demands of the role.
