Rohit Sharma’s Historic 10,000 ODI Runs Feat Stuns Fans

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, has etched his name in cricketing history by joining the exclusive 10,000 ODI runs club. He achieved this remarkable milestone during an electrifying Super Four clash against Sri Lanka on September 12, leaving fans in awe.

In a defining moment during the seventh over, Rohit Sharma showcased his signature style by elegantly dispatching a good-length delivery from Kasun Rajitha over the long-off region for a stunning six. This mighty strike propelled him into the coveted 10,000-run territory, solidifying his status as a cricketing legend.

What sets this achievement apart is the speed at which Rohit accomplished it. He became the second-fastest batsman to reach this remarkable milestone, needing just 241 innings.

The only player ahead of him is his compatriot and fellow cricket superstar, Virat Kohli, who achieved 10,000 runs in a mere 205 innings.

Rohit Sharma’s entry into the 10,000 ODI runs club also places him among the elite, making him the sixth Indian batsman to accomplish this illustrious feat.

He now joins the ranks of cricketing legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni.

Reflecting on his remarkable cricketing journey, Rohit Sharma made his ODI debut in 2007 against Ireland. With an impressive average of 49, he has notched up a staggering 30 ODI centuries, which positions him joint-third in the list of most ODI centuries—an unequivocal testament to his consistency and class as a batsman.

Adding another feather to his cap, Rohit holds the record for the most sixes by an Indian batsman in ODIs, with an astonishing 285 sixes to his name.

This remarkable tally also ranks him third in the world, trailing behind only Shahid Afridi (351) and Chris Gayle (331), underscoring his prowess in clearing the boundary ropes.
