Rolex introduces Cosmograph Daytona in 2023 collection

Rolex has introduced its brand new watch – Cosmograph Daytona in 2023 collection. The 2023 Rolex watch collection demonstrates a desire to innovate while staying true to the brand’s heritage.

The watches have been designed to strike a balance between modernity and tradition, and cutting-edge technology has been used to create bold and daring designs.

The statement suggests that only by setting high standards and being meticulous in their design can Rolex create watches that will stand the test of time and become iconic pieces.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona comes in a 40mm size and is available in four captivating designs: platinum, Oystersteel, yellow gold, and Oystersteel and yellow gold.

The iconic style and exceptional performance of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona have firmly established its legendary status not only within the world of motorsports but also in broader society.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, Rolex has made high-precision modifications to the entire range, including the case, dial, and movement, ensuring that the watch’s legacy endures.

These adjustments and upgrades serve as a testament to Rolex’s commitment to excellence, demonstrating that the pursuit of perfection is an ongoing endeavor with no end in sight.

As part of the high-precision reworking of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, the dial has been redesigned with a new graphic balance. Hour markers and counter rings have been resized and restyled, creating a more visually harmonious look.

The use of subtle color and finish combinations enhances the contrast between the dial and the counters and their rings, giving the watch a modern and sophisticated appearance.

The middle case of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona has been redesigned to create graceful lines of light that elegantly reflect off its sides. In versions that feature a Cerachrom bezel made from ceramic, the bezel is edged with the same metal as the case, creating a cohesive and sophisticated look.

The 950 platinum version of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, which is distinguished by its ice blue dial, features an 18 ct yellow gold oscillating weight that is visible to the wearer through a sapphire case back – a first for the Oyster Perpetual collection.

Platinum is renowned for being the most prestigious of metals, valued for its distinctive radiance. This exceptionally rare and valuable metal is one of the densest and most challenging to work with, and it is also celebrated for its exceptional resistance to corrosion.

Rolex uses only 950 platinum, an alloy made up of 950 ‰ platinum and a precise amount of ruthenium, which undergoes meticulous in-house finishing.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is powered by the calibre 4131, a new chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. This movement is an evolution of the calibre 4130 and includes several major innovations, such as the Chronergy escapement to reduce energy loss, Paraflex shock absorbers to protect the movement, and an optimized ball bearing to enhance self-winding.

The calibre 4131 also features a new aesthetic for the brand, with a cut-out oscillating weight and exclusive Rolex Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges. This decoration is a reinterpretation of an iconic finishing in traditional Swiss watchmaking.
