Regional Tax Office Hyderabad collects Rs28.788 billion during the first quarter of FY2026-27, with strong gains in Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty.
The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Hyderabad has posted an 18% increase in provisional net revenue collection during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, highlighting stronger tax receipts during the period.
According to the latest figures, RTO Hyderabad collected Rs28.788 billion during the first quarter, compared with Rs24.373 billion recorded during the same period of FY2025-26. The latest collection represents an increase of Rs4.415 billion year-on-year.
The performance reflects the efforts of officers and staff at the regional tax office to improve revenue collection and strengthen tax compliance across the jurisdiction.
September Collection Also Rises
RTO Hyderabad also reported strong growth during September 2026. The office collected a provisional net amount of Rs12.009 billion during the month, compared with Rs10.093 billion in September 2025.
The September collection therefore registered an 18% year-on-year increase, contributing significantly to the overall first-quarter revenue performance.
Income Tax Leads Collection
The first-quarter revenue included Rs18.402 billion from Income Tax, which recorded a growth of 9% compared with the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, Sales Tax collection reached Rs9.760 billion, registering a substantial 37% increase year-on-year. Federal Excise Duty (FED) also generated Rs627 million, reflecting 37% growth over the same period last year.
The figures show that Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty posted the strongest percentage increases among the three major revenue categories during the quarter.

Sajjad Akber Khan, Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue at RTO Hyderabad, appreciated the dedication and professional efforts of the officers and staff following the revenue performance.
He expressed confidence that the tax office would maintain its efforts to increase revenue collection while also improving compliance among taxpayers.
The first-quarter results provide a positive start to FY2026-27 for RTO Hyderabad, with the office continuing to focus on revenue mobilization and improved tax administration in the region.
