Ryan Reynolds Shares Update After Blake Lively Scores Court Victory

Entertainment

Ryan Reynolds returned to social media on Friday, sharing his support for Canada’s national soccer team just hours after wife Blake Lively secured a significant legal victory in her ongoing dispute with actor and director Justin Baldoni.

The actor posted a series of photos on Instagram documenting his trip to Toronto Stadium for Canada’s FIFA World Cup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I was not gonna miss this match. Planes, trains, automobiles to get here but completely worth it,” Reynolds wrote. “Toronto showed up. Canada showed up. One of the greatest atmospheres the sport has seen. So proud of @teamcanada @fifaworldcup @canadasoccer.”

The post marked Reynolds’ first public message following a major court ruling involving Lively.

Blake Lively Wins Key Legal Ruling

Earlier on Friday, a U.S. federal judge ruled that actress Blake Lively is entitled to recover legal fees from Justin Baldoni in connection with their legal dispute.

The ruling represented a partial victory for the actress, who had been involved in litigation with her It Ends with Us co-star and director.

However, the court declined to award damages related to Baldoni’s defamation claims against Lively, limiting the scope of her legal success.

Lawsuit Settled Before Public Trial

The latest ruling follows a settlement reached between the two parties in May 2026, ending a high-profile legal battle before it proceeded to a public trial.

The agreement also brought an end to Baldoni’s reported $400 million countersuit against Lively.

Neither Reynolds nor Lively publicly commented on the court decision beyond the actor’s social media post, which focused exclusively on Canada’s World Cup appearance.

Reynolds, a vocal supporter of Canadian sports teams and national causes, has frequently used his social media platforms to celebrate major sporting events involving Canada.

While the legal dispute appears to be nearing its conclusion, Friday’s ruling marks another significant development in one of Hollywood’s most closely watched courtroom battles of the past year.
