Samsung Debuts W25 Foldable Series with Lavish Design in China

Samsung has introduced a new, special edition of its foldable phone series in China, marking a luxurious upgrade in both style and performance.

The foldable, known globally as the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, has been rebranded in China as the Samsung W25, featuring an ornate redesign with golden accents on the hinge, frame, and camera lenses.

The launch event in China unveiled not just the W25 but also a smaller, clamshell foldable called the W25 Flip, which is essentially the Galaxy Z Flip6 with similar decorative enhancements. Both devices sport premium design touches aimed at high-end users seeking exclusivity and refined aesthetics.

The Samsung W25 stands apart from the standard Galaxy Z Fold6 with its superior specifications. It features a larger display, a sleeker profile, and a powerful 200 MP main camera. Storage options have been upgraded for the Chinese market, with models offering up to 1TB, complementing its 16GB RAM configuration.

In terms of specifications, the W25 Flip closely resembles the Galaxy Z Flip6, running on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor. It comes with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB and 512GB, paired with 25W charging capability. Both models arrive in a premium Black Gold Gift Box that includes a 25W charger and a faux leather case, emphasizing Samsung’s attention to luxury presentation.

While Samsung China has yet to confirm official pricing, the W25 is expected to start around CNY16,999 (roughly $2,400/€2,200), and the W25 Flip may be priced at CNY9,999 (approximately $1,400/€1,300). Given the localized branding and unique features, these models are unlikely to launch outside China.

This exclusive release underscores Samsung’s strategy to tailor luxury offerings for the Chinese market, catering to high-end customers who value both advanced technology and sophisticated design.

Samsung’s W25 and W25 Flip models showcase a lavishly redesigned take on its foldable lineup, tailored specifically for the Chinese market. With high-end specifications, increased storage options, and premium styling, these devices aim to attract consumers who prioritize exclusivity and aesthetics.

While they may not be available globally, the W25 series highlights Samsung’s dedication to providing unique, luxury-oriented tech experiences in China, catering to an audience that values both innovation and opulence.
