Samsung display to begin Galaxy S27 Series AMOLED production this month

Samsung is reportedly preparing millions of AMOLED panels for the Galaxy S27 family ahead of its expected early 2027 launch.

Samsung Display is reportedly preparing to begin mass production of AMOLED panels for the upcoming Galaxy S27 series this month, adding to signs that Samsung is moving ahead with preparations for its next flagship smartphone range.

The development follows reports that Samsung has already started mass production of its Exynos 2700 chipset, which is expected to be used in the Galaxy S27 series. However, the processor strategy for all models has yet to be fully confirmed.

According to a separate report from South Korea, Samsung Display is preparing panels for four Galaxy S27 models, with production targets reflecting the larger lineup compared with the current generation.

Galaxy S27 Series to Include Four Models

The Galaxy S27 family is expected to comprise four smartphones: the 6.27-inch Galaxy S27, 6.66-inch Galaxy S27+, 6.47-inch Galaxy S27 Pro and 6.89-inch Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The reported addition of the Galaxy S27 Pro would increase Samsung Display’s panel requirements for the flagship range. The company is said to be targeting annual shipments of between 47 million and 48 million panels for the Galaxy S27 family, around 10% higher than the Galaxy S26 series.

By comparison, the Galaxy S26 lineup reportedly had a shipment target in the low 40-million range.

Galaxy S27 Pro Production Plans

Samsung is reportedly asking Samsung Display to supply between 2 million and 3 million Galaxy S27 Pro panels this year, followed by another 4 million to 5 million units next year.

The production schedule does not indicate that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S27 Pro in 2026. Instead, the panels are reportedly being prepared ahead of smartphone assembly, with the Galaxy S27 series expected to launch in early 2027.

Early panel production would allow Samsung to build inventory ahead of the anticipated launch period and support manufacturing across the four-model lineup.

Privacy Display Expected on Pro Models

The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are also once again reported to feature Samsung’s Privacy Display technology.

The feature debuted with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and is designed to limit the visibility of on-screen content from certain viewing angles, offering additional privacy in public environments.

While the latest report adds weight to previous claims about the technology, the Galaxy S27 specifications remain based on leaks and reports. Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the Galaxy S27 series, its launch date, panel specifications or final model lineup.
