Samsung Galaxy M36 benchmark leak reveals promising specs

Samsung is actively developing its upcoming mid-range contender, the Galaxy M36, and the device has now been spotted in the Geekbench online database.

The appearance of the Galaxy M36 prototype in benchmark results offers a first glimpse into the phone’s core hardware specifications and software.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Galaxy M36 carries the model number SM-M366B, indicating that it is the global variant. The listing confirms that the device is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 chipset, which is the same SoC used in several other mid-range models. In this test configuration, the Galaxy M36 is paired with 6GB of RAM and will ship with Android 15 right out of the box, layered with Samsung’s latest One UI 7 interface.

While Samsung has not officially revealed detailed specifications of the Galaxy M36, the Geekbench data already signals a promising performance boost for its segment. If Samsung continues the trend seen with its predecessor, the Galaxy M35, consumers can expect a few enhancements tailored to differentiate the M-series from the closely related A-series.

The Galaxy M36 is expected to stand out with a larger 6,000 mAh battery and possibly retain a side-mounted fingerprint scanner—a feature that sets it apart from the Galaxy A36. It’s also worth noting that, unlike the A36 which is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, the Galaxy M36 will offer a distinctly different performance profile with its Exynos processor.

If Samsung mirrors the A36’s other features, the Galaxy M36 could sport a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 1,900-nit peak brightness. Camera specs may include a 50 MP main sensor, 8 MP ultrawide, 5 MP macro lens, and a 12 MP front-facing camera. Storage options might range from 128GB to 256GB with potential RAM upgrades up to 12GB.

As anticipation builds, all eyes are on Samsung to officially unveil the Galaxy M36 in the coming months, promising a powerful and feature-rich experience for budget-conscious users.
