Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S24 FE, boasting a larger 6.7-inch display, a bigger battery, and a focus on enhanced performance.
This year’s model introduces the ProVisual engine, setting it apart from its predecessors with improved visuals and low-light capabilities.
For the first time, the Galaxy S24 FE is powered by the Exynos 2400e chipset globally, eliminating regional variations in chipsets.
Though Samsung hasn’t fully detailed the specs, the prime Cortex-X4 core is expected to run at a lower clock speed, balancing performance and efficiency. The phone features an upgraded vapor chamber for sustained performance, 1.1 times larger than the S23 FE’s, promising significant improvements.
The Galaxy S24 FE comes with 8GB of RAM and offers storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It maintains an impressive 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, positioning it as a more affordable alternative to the Galaxy S24+ while offering similar display real estate.
Despite being slightly larger, its OLED display provides sharp visuals and includes Samsung’s Vision Booster technology, enhancing outdoor visibility.
A major highlight is the ProVisual engine, previously reserved for flagship models, now brought to the FE series. It includes Nightography, which boosts low-light photography, and Super HDR, enhancing color accuracy.
The 50MP main camera (f/1.8), 8MP 3x telephoto lens, and 12MP ultra-wide lens combine to offer versatile photography options. The front camera retains its 10MP sensor, but with the addition of the ProVisual engine, photo quality is improved over last year’s model.
The phone’s 4,700mAh battery supports 25W wired charging (50% charge in 30 minutes) and 15W wireless charging.
With a slim profile, the Galaxy S24 FE weighs 213g and comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 and promises software updates for seven OS generations and seven years of security patches.
Available for pre-order now, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE starts at $650, with its official release set for October 3.
