Samsung is reportedly preparing to expand its flagship smartphone lineup with the introduction of the Galaxy S27 Pro, and a new leak has revealed fresh details about the device’s camera system ahead of its expected launch in early 2027.
According to a report from ET News, citing industry sources, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, positioning it as a premium option below the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Galaxy S27 Pro camera details emerge
The latest leak suggests the Galaxy S27 Pro will offer a versatile triple-camera setup led by a 200MP primary sensor, accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide camera, and the newly reported 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
The telephoto camera is expected to be one of the key features differentiating the Pro model from Samsung’s standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ smartphones.
Galaxy S27 Ultra may adopt triple-camera setup
The report also reiterates previous rumours that Samsung plans to simplify the Galaxy S27 Ultra camera system by switching to a triple rear camera configuration.
According to the leak, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will reportedly drop the 10MP 3x telephoto sensor found on previous Ultra models, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Instead, Samsung is expected to retain:
200MP primary camera
50MP ultrawide camera
50MP 5x telephoto camera
This would mark a notable change in Samsung’s Ultra camera strategy while maintaining its focus on high-resolution photography.
