Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series is already the subject of early leaks, with new rumours suggesting a notable upgrade to the front-facing camera across at least two premium models, alongside expanded imaging capabilities for rear cameras.
According to industry chatter, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are expected to feature a new 16-megapixel selfie camera. While details remain unconfirmed, sources speculate that Samsung may adopt a square-shaped sensor design, similar in concept to Apple’s approach seen in recent iPhone generations. However, this remains speculative and has not been independently verified.
It is also unclear whether the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ models will receive the same front camera upgrade, though it has not been ruled out.
Beyond the selfie camera improvements, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are also tipped to include significant upgrades to the rear camera system. Reports suggest both devices could feature a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide sensor, indicating Samsung may continue its push toward high-resolution multi-lens photography in its flagship lineup.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is also rumoured to be a new addition to the series, positioned as a compact alternative to the Ultra model. It is expected to offer many of the same premium camera features but without support for the S Pen, distinguishing it from Samsung’s top-tier device.
Samsung has not commented on any of the leaks, and the Galaxy S27 lineup is still likely more than a year away from official announcement. As with all early-stage rumours, specifications may change before final production.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, launched earlier, introduced features such as the Privacy Display, which now appears set to influence the design direction of its successor lineup.
For now, the Galaxy S27 camera rumours point to incremental but meaningful upgrades, particularly in front-facing imaging and telephoto performance, as Samsung continues refining its flagship smartphone strategy.
