Samsung’s latest flagship tablets bring AMOLED displays, Android 17, Galaxy AI and up to 1TB of storage
Samsung has unveiled its latest flagship Android tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, expanding its premium tablet line-up with new displays, upgraded performance and AI-powered software features.
The new tablets are scheduled to go on sale in select markets from October 7, with both models available in Gray and Silver colour options.
Dimensity 9500 and Android 17
Both the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and run Android 17-based One UI 9.
Samsung has introduced a multi-window layout supporting up to three sections, alongside the latest Galaxy AI features. The company has also promised seven years of operating system and security updates for the new tablets.
The Ultra model gets a larger display and higher memory and storage configurations, while both tablets support S Pen functionality and microSD expansion of up to 2TB.
AMOLED Displays and Large Batteries
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848 pixels.
The Galaxy Tab S12+, meanwhile, comes with a smaller 12.6-inch AMOLED display offering a 2,800 x 1,752-pixel resolution.
Samsung has equipped the Ultra with an 11,600mAh battery, while the Plus model features a 10,600mAh cell. Both support 45W wired fast charging.
Camera and Connectivity
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a dual-camera system on the rear, comprising a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The Tab S12+ has a single 13MP rear camera.
Both models feature a 12MP ultrawide front camera for selfies and video calls.
Connectivity options also differ between the two tablets. The Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, while the S12+ comes with Wi-Fi 6E. Both models feature Bluetooth 6.0 and S Pen support.
Prices and Availability
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at $1,399 (€1,569/£1,399) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It will also be available with 12GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at $1,199 (€1,329/£1,199) for the 12GB/256GB model, with a 12GB/512GB version also available.
Both tablets include a microSD card slot supporting up to 2TB of additional storage. Sales will begin in select markets from October 7.
