Samsung launches 2023 Smart Monitor lineup with 4K resolution

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its complete 2023 Smart Monitor lineup, catering to individual preferences and requirements for entertainment, gaming, and work.

The new lineup includes the M8, M7, and M5 Smart Monitors (Model Name: M80C, M70C, M50C) and offers a wide range of customization options.

Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed excitement about the enhanced M8 model, stating, “We are setting a new benchmark for Smart Monitors worldwide with our latest lineup. Within a single monitor, users can enjoy top-notch entertainment, gaming, productivity, design, and personalized convenience.”

The comprehensive lineup comprises nine versatile monitors designed to meet the needs of diverse users. The M8, M7, and M5 Smart Monitors are available in various colors and sizes. The M8 and M7 models come in 32-inch sizes, while the M5 model is available in both 32-inch and 27-inch sizes. The M8, with UHD resolution and 400nit brightness, is offered in Warm White, Daylight Blue, Sunset Pink, and Spring Green options. The M7, featuring UHD resolution and 300nit brightness, is available in Warm White. The M5, equipped with Full HD resolution, comes in sleek Black or White variants.

The M8 and M7 models introduce a new Iconic Slim Design, boasting an ultra-slim profile measuring 11.39mm at the thinnest point. The back of the M8 and M7 models features an elegant herringbone pattern, adding sophistication to the monitor and the surrounding space. The height-adjustable stand with tilt support allows M8 users to achieve the desired viewing angle while maintaining a clutter-free workspace. The screen can also pivot 90 degrees, reducing the strain of scrolling through lengthy files.

The 2023 Smart Monitor M8 has undergone multiple upgrades and feature enhancements compared to its predecessor. With 4K resolution, HDR 10+, and 400nit brightness, the M8 delivers brilliant and vivid visuals, providing an exceptional smart entertainment experience.

M8 users can effortlessly access the Samsung Gaming Hub, a comprehensive streaming platform, along with Smart Hub for popular services like Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube. Both the M8 and M7 models support color coverage up to 99% sRGB color gamut, ensuring vibrant and lifelike colors for designers and creators.

The 2023 lineup has been optimized to facilitate seamless remote work. The PC-less workspace enables wireless connectivity and screen mirroring with PCs, eliminating the need for additional purchases. The M8 features a magnetic and removable camera, allowing users to connect wirelessly. The SlimFit camera supports FHD resolution and video conferencing features. Users can now connect to apps like Google Meet and leverage Auto Framing capabilities for more productive meetings. Furthermore, Multi View has been upgraded, enabling full-screen mode usage of Microsoft 365 and the Browser app to minimize app switching.

Improving the user interface of all 2023 Smart Monitors, mouse and keyboard control functionalities have been added to various apps, including SmartThings and Smart Hub. Users can now have complete control while exploring their favorite content without relying on a remote.

With the built-in IoT Hub supporting Zigbee and Thread, users can conveniently control all their in-home IoT devices from a single monitor. The M8 and M7 models include built-in voice assistants like Bixby and Amazon Alexa, enabling users to operate the monitor using voice commands. Additionally, the M8 and M7 models feature a built-in microphone for far-field voice recognition, allowing direct communication with the monitor.

The new My Contents feature, available across the entire 2023 Smart Monitor lineup, offers quick access to useful information. When the monitor is in standby mode and detects a paired smartphone through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), the screen displays the user’s photos, weather updates, and more at a glance. The monitor automatically resumes standby mode when the smartphone goes out of range.
