Android 17-based update begins rolling out with new AI-powered features and improvements across Samsung’s flagship smartphones
Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable version of One UI 9, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra following months of beta testing.
The update is beginning to reach users across various markets, with South Korea appearing to be among the first regions to receive the stable release. The over-the-air update is reported to be around 650MB in size.
One of the key additions highlighted by Samsung is My FanCam, a new feature designed to enhance the camera experience. The company has also introduced more customisation options for Now Brief, allowing users to create and edit their own cards using generative artificial intelligence.
Samsung has also improved Now Nudge, with the company saying the updated feature requires fewer steps to complete tasks. The changes are part of Samsung’s broader effort to make One UI 9 more streamlined while expanding the role of AI across its software experience.
The latest software update also brings improvements to several existing applications and tools. Samsung says Creative Studio has been enhanced, while Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder have also received updates.
Another addition is the new Warranty and Care settings menu, which provides users with a dedicated area for managing information and options related to their device warranty and support.
The stable release follows an extended beta-testing period for the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung used the beta programme to test One UI 9 features and gather feedback before making the software broadly available.
One UI 9 is built on Android 17, bringing Samsung’s own software features and interface changes on top of Google’s latest Android platform.
The update is expected to expand to additional markets following the initial rollout. Availability and timing may vary depending on region, carrier and device model.
For Galaxy S26 series owners, the update can be checked through the device’s software update settings once it becomes available in their market.
