Samsung is gearing up to expand its foldable phone lineup with the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, potentially launching alongside the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025.
While the final marketing name for the new foldable device is yet to be confirmed, sources indicate that Samsung is aiming for a slimmer and larger display design.
Ross Young, a reputable industry insider, recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra will be a thinner version of the original Z Fold 6, achieved by removing the digitizer used for S Pen input.
This design choice means that the Ultra version will not support the S Pen, a feature that has been a staple in Samsung’s high-end devices. However, this trade-off allows for a sleeker and more portable form factor.
The production timeline for the new foldable device is already in motion, with the first batch of foldable panels expected to arrive at Samsung’s fabrication plants in the fourth quarter of this year. If everything proceeds according to plan, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra should be ready for release in the first quarter of 2025.
The price is anticipated to be comparable to the standard Z Fold 6, ensuring that the new model remains accessible to premium smartphone buyers.
In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, Samsung is also preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 as early as June or July of this year. This rapid expansion of their foldable portfolio underscores Samsung’s strategy to stay ahead in the competitive market by offering a diverse range of foldable devices.
