SBP Announces Bank Holidays for Ashura Moharram 2023

Karachi, July 25, 2023 – In a recent circular issued to all banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared bank holidays for the observance of Ashura Moharram 2023.

The bank holidays are scheduled to take place from the 28th to the 29th of July, 2023, which falls on a Friday and Saturday.

During these two days, all SBP offices and branches will be closed to the public. This decision has been made in light of the significance of Ashura, which commemorates the 9th and 10th days of the Islamic month of Moharram, 1445 A.H.

The announcement of these bank holidays is in line with the country’s commitment to honoring religious observances and providing citizens with the opportunity to participate in and observe significant religious events.
