With cash rewards of Rs.1,000,000, Rs.500,000, and Rs.300,000 for first, second, and third places respectively in each denomination category, the SBP invites local artists, designers, and art students to participate.

A distinguished panel of artists will evaluate submissions, recommending the top six designs for each denomination. To join, interested individuals must submit their designs to the Director, Finance Department, State Bank of Pakistan, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi, by March 11, 2024. Participants can submit designs for all denominations (Rs. 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000) or select denominations.

Competition guidelines specify criteria, including hard copies on white paper for each banknote with a brief write-up of no more than one hundred words in English or Urdu explaining the design and its theme. The importance of unique, easily distinguishable colors for each banknote denomination is emphasized.

Strict guidelines ensure submitted designs are free from copyright claims and/or liabilities. SBP and subsidiary employees, along with their family members, and jury members are ineligible. Designs submitted become the sole property of SBP, which reserves the right to share them for banknote production without additional compensation.
