Lahore/Karachi, February 25, 2025 – Education authorities in Punjab and Sindh have officially announced revised school timings for Ramadan 2025, ensuring that students and teachers can continue their academic activities while observing fasting hours.
The new school schedule is designed to accommodate the special requirements of Ramadan, a month of spiritual reflection and devotion observed by millions across Pakistan. With shorter working hours, students will have the flexibility to balance their education with religious obligations.
Revised School Timings in Punjab for Ramadan 2025
In Punjab, single-shift schools will function from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while Friday classes will conclude at 12:30 PM to accommodate Friday prayers.
For double-shift schools, the morning session will operate from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the afternoon session will run from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. However, on Fridays, the second shift will be adjusted from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Revised School Timings in Sindh for Ramadan 2025
In Sindh, primary schools following a single shift system will be open from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Double-shift primary schools will conduct morning sessions from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while the afternoon session will be held from 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM.
For secondary and higher secondary schools, the Ramadan schedule will mirror that of primary institutions, ensuring uniformity across the education system.
Authorities have instructed all schools to enforce these revised Ramadan schedules starting from the first day of the holy month. Parents and students can confirm specific details with their respective school administrations or check with provincial education departments for further clarifications.
Ramadan Moon Sighting Predictions for 2025
The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted that the Ramadan moon will likely be sighted on March 1, 2025. According to SUPARCO experts, the crescent is expected to appear on February 28, 2025, at 5:45 PM Pakistan Standard Time, but visibility may be challenging due to its low altitude.
As per tradition, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the final decision on the Ramadan moon sighting. A meeting has been scheduled in Peshawar on February 28, 2025, to confirm the start of the holy month.
These updated school timings ensure that students can manage their academic responsibilities effectively while fully embracing the spiritual essence of Ramadan.
