Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been transferred to another federal prison, days after reports emerged that he had been taken to hospital following a head injury.

Combs, 56, was moved on Friday from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania. His spokesperson told the BBC that the transfer between two low-security facilities was “an important distinction” and had been made “with safety and security in mind”.

Located about 155 miles west of New York City, Allenwood Low houses just over 1,000 inmates, considerably fewer than the more than 4,200 held at Fort Dix.

The transfer followed reports that Combs was taken to hospital at around 1am on Saturday after sustaining a head injury. TMZ reported that the injury was not life-threatening and that he was awake and talking before returning to prison later that day.

TMZ had also reported earlier this year that Combs was involved in a physical altercation with another inmate at Fort Dix. According to the outlet, the dispute began after the other inmate insulted him, leading to pushing and punches before staff intervened. Prison authorities have not publicly confirmed those reported incidents.

Combs has been serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted last year on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

He is expected to be released in March 2028 and has appealed his sentence, seeking immediate release.
