Record monthly company registrations highlight rising investor confidence and strong growth across Pakistan’s IT, trading and services sectors.
Pakistan’s corporate sector achieved a historic milestone as the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 5,438 new companies during July 2026, marking the highest monthly company registrations ever recorded by the regulator.
The unprecedented growth reflects increasing confidence among local and foreign investors, while also demonstrating the growing preference for formal corporate structures across the country’s business landscape.
According to the SECP, the latest registrations indicate that entrepreneurs are increasingly opting for company incorporation to benefit from stronger legal protection, improved corporate governance and easier access to banking and financial services.
The record-breaking performance also underscores Pakistan’s expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem and sustained business activity across multiple sectors.
The commission also reported that five international companies established their business offices in Pakistan during the month.
These include Jira Oil & Gas Engineering (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Polaris Natural Resources Development FZE, Zhejiang Jin Lun Electromechanic Company Limited, Jiangsu Ankura Intelligent Electric Company Limited, and Construction Company Limited.
Their registration highlights continued foreign business interest in Pakistan despite global economic challenges.
Among the newly incorporated entities, 3,148 were private limited companies, making up the largest share of registrations. Another 2,117 single-member companies were registered, along with 127 limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 non-profit organizations incorporated under Section 42, and 18 public companies.
Punjab remained the leading province for company registrations, accounting for 2,756 companies, representing 51 percent of the total monthly incorporations.
Islamabad ranked second with 1,053 registrations, followed by Sindh (864), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (450), Gilgit-Baltistan (180) and Balochistan (135).
The information technology (IT) sector continued to dominate business registrations with 1,008 newly incorporated companies, reflecting the rapid expansion of Pakistan’s digital economy.
The trading sector followed with 845 companies, while the services sector added 638 new firms. Other major contributors included construction (348), food and beverages (256), tourism (207), e-commerce (181), education (165), real estate development (162) and corporate agriculture (145).
The SECP further disclosed that 112 newly registered companies had foreign directors representing countries including China, the United States, Afghanistan, South Korea, Germany, Iran and the United Kingdom.
The presence of overseas investors and directors reflects Pakistan’s growing appeal as a destination for business expansion and investment.
The record-breaking registrations during July 2026 reinforce the positive momentum in Pakistan’s corporate sector, with expanding entrepreneurship, increasing foreign participation and continued growth in technology-driven businesses expected to support the country’s long-term economic development.
