Selena Gomez, David Henrie Reunite in Disney’s ‘Wizards’ Sequel

Selena Gomez and David Henrie have reunited for Disney’s highly anticipated sequel, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

The reboot marks the return of the beloved series, 12 years after the original show concluded, and the first look, released on Friday, offers fans a nostalgic glimpse behind the scenes.

In the teaser, viewers are treated to the return of Gomez as Alex Russo and Henrie as Justin Russo. David DeLuise also makes a cameo as Jerry Russo, adding to the excitement. Reflecting on the return, Selena Gomez shares, “This is where it all started,” expressing her joy at being back with her old castmates. She adds, “We’re home.”

Selena Gomez is not just reprising her role; she’s also taking on the role of executive producer for the reboot. While her on-screen presence will be limited to the first episode, her influence behind the scenes is significant.

The sequel series will focus on Henrie’s character, Justin Russo, who has transitioned into a normal life with his family—wife Giada (played by Mimi Gianopulos) and their sons, Roman (Alkaio Thiele) and Milo (Max Matenko).

However, his peaceful existence is disrupted when his sister Alex, played by Selena Gomez, arrives with a young wizard-in-training, Billie LeAnn Brown, seeking help.

The teaser also introduces fans to Billie, the show’s new lead. Henrie describes her as “rebellious, stubborn, and sarcastic,” drawing a comparison to Gomez’s character. Selena Gomez playfully acknowledges the similarity, saying, “Sounds like someone else I know,” to which Henrie responds with a laugh, “Haha, like me, I get it.”

Fans of the original series are eagerly awaiting the release of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which promises to bring back the magic, humor, and heart that made the original a hit.
