Shipping Activity at Port Qasim on March 26, 2024

Karachi, March 26, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Tuesday, March 26, 2024, providing essential information for stakeholders in the maritime industry.

Four ships, namely MSC Mundra VIII, MSC Spring III, Nimble Nicky, and Shiva, were scheduled to load and offload Container, Iron Ore, and LPG at the Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, and Engro Terminal, respectively, during the reporting period.

In addition to these vessels, five more ships, including MSC Maeva, Kerala, Port Imabari, Dravin, and Milaha Ras Laffan, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim within the last 24 hours. These ships were also slated to load and offload various cargoes such as Container, Furnace Oil, LPG, and LNG.

Throughout the past 24 hours, a total of ten ships were engaged at PQA berths. Of these, two ships, MSC Mundra VIII and Forshun, departed from the port this morning. Three more ships, namely Ullswater, Shiva, and Mackenzie, are expected to set sail this afternoon.

The port handled a substantial cargo volume of 140,659 tonnes during the last 24 hours, comprising 112,201 tonnes of imported cargo and 28,458 tonnes of exported cargo. This cargo was carried in 1,647 containers, with 840 TEUs for imports and 807 TEUs for exports.

At the outer anchorage of Port Qasim, nine ships were stationed, with five ships, including Solar Roma, Port Imabari, Dravin, Milaha Ras Laffan, and MSC Maeva, awaiting berths at various terminals. Additionally, two ships, Maersk Santosa and Xpress Bardsey, carrying Palm Oil, Coal, LPG, LNG, and Containers, are expected to dock at LCT, PIBT, EVTL, PGPCL, and QICT terminals on Tuesday.

Looking ahead, two container ships, Marathopolis and X-Press Mekong, are scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, further adding to the port’s shipping activities.
