Shipping Activity at Port Qasim on November 19, 2024

Karachi, November 19, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Tuesday, November 19, 2024, providing stakeholders with an update on the port’s operations.

On Monday, four ships—Solar Catie, Sanmar Raga, Navig8 Montiel, and Yannis Pittas—arrived at various terminals across Port Qasim. These vessels were carrying diverse cargo, including palm oil, chemicals, gas oil, and coal, and docked at the Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, and Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, respectively.

In addition to these, four more ships—Jaru Bhum, MSC Branka, MSC Positano, and Adam Junior—arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, bringing container shipments and chickpeas to the port.

Over the past 24 hours, a total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths. Notably, the container vessel TSS Amber departed from the port this morning. Four additional vessels, including Sanmar Raga, Star Crimson, Xin Xiang He, and Kouras Queen, are expected to set sail this afternoon.

During the same period, the port handled a total cargo volume of 104,164 tonnes. This included 56,675 tonnes of import cargo and 47,489 tonnes of export cargo, carried in 1,754 containers (52 TEUs for imports and 1,702 TEUs for exports). The efficient handling of this cargo highlights the port’s vital role in facilitating trade and ensuring smooth operations.

At the outer anchorage, ten ships are currently stationed, with two vessels—MSC Branka and MSC Positano—set to berth at the Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, three more ships, Maersk Cape Town, Atlantic Ibis, and Milaha Ras Laffan, are expected to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, further contributing to the port’s bustling activity.

Port Qasim continues to serve as a critical gateway for both import and export cargo, with smooth operational management ensuring that shipments flow efficiently, supporting Pakistan’s economy and trade sector.
