SIEHS Deploys 310 Ambulances to Ensure Safety during Muharram-ul-Haram Processions in Sindh

Karachi, 27 July 2023: In an effort to ensure the safety and well-being of participants during the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram processions, the Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS) has announced the deployment of 310 ambulances across Sindh on the 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The SIEHS has meticulously devised a comprehensive plan to make ambulances readily available for Azadars (participants in the processions) after holding extensive coordination sessions with political leaders, civil administration, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant stakeholders, especially the organizers of the processions.

According to the announcement, no area in Sindh will be left without the availability of a fully-equipped ambulance, staffed with highly trained and experienced medical teams. These ambulances will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical gadgets to ensure immediate medical attention if required during the processions.

To address any potential communication challenges, the SIEHS has already established alternative network options in case cellular services are disrupted. The organization’s landline-based Command & Control Centers located in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur will remain operational round the clock throughout the period of 7th to 10th Muharram.

Despite the special arrangements made for Muharram-ul-Haram, the regular ambulance services will continue to operate seamlessly to cater to the healthcare needs of the general public.

The deployment of 310 ambulances reflects the SIEHS’s commitment to providing efficient emergency medical services during this significant religious event. By collaborating with various stakeholders, the organization aims to ensure that medical assistance is readily available to those participating in the processions, contributing to a safe and secure commemoration of Muharram-ul-Haram in Sindh.

Authorities have urged all participants to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with medical personnel on site to ensure a peaceful and incident-free observance of this sacred occasion.

As Muharram-ul-Haram approaches, the people of Sindh can rest assured that their health and safety remain a top priority for the SIEHS, which is prepared to respond promptly to any medical emergencies that may arise during the processions.
