KARACHI: Sindh Excise Department has collected Rs5.7 billion under various heads including infrastructure cess, motor vehicles, properties etc. during the months of July 2019.
Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that during current financial year in one month i.e July, Sindh Excise Department recovered Rs 5.7 billions in term of various taxes.
He said while presiding over a meeting here in his office on Monday.
Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Abdul Haleem Shaikh Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting.
While briefing the meeting, Director General Excise and Taxation Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh told that the department collected Rs 699.441 millions as Motor vehicle Tax; Infrastructure Cess Rs 4 billions; and Rs 47.041 millions in term of Professional Tax.
He said that the department had also collected Rs. 1.209 millions in Cotton Fee, Rs. 479.254 millions in Property Tax and Rs. 11.005 millions in Entertainment Duty while the remaining amount was recovered in other various taxes.
While addressing on this occasion, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla expressed his satisfaction on over all collection of the taxes and asked the officers to work hard in collection of the taxes.
He said that during last fiscal year, Sindh Excise Department recovered more than 100 percent tax targets and hopefully we would go ahead in current financial year as well.
