KARACHI: The Sindh government has officially launched a job portal aimed at streamlining employment opportunities for job seekers across the province.
This portal will feature job listings from both government and private sector organisations, ensuring a broader outreach for individuals looking for work.
The launch event was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, members of the business community, and other key stakeholders, according to Express News.
Speaking at the event, Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted that 65% of Pakistan’s population comprises young people, and the newly introduced job portal is designed specifically to cater to their employment needs. He emphasised that the Sindh government remains committed to providing better job opportunities and strengthening the employment sector.
Memon explained that the portal will enable both educated individuals and skilled workers to upload their CVs and connect with potential employers. He added that while many job seekers aspire to secure government positions, the portal will also facilitate placements in the private sector, bridging the gap between talent and available opportunities.
Furthermore, the minister mentioned that the job portal would incorporate temporary job listings, giving job seekers multiple avenues to explore. The Sindh government aims to ensure that this initiative benefits a maximum number of individuals by actively promoting it across various platforms.
Sindh Chief Minister Vows Greater Service to the People
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while addressing the gathering, reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Sindh. He expressed optimism that the job portal would significantly enhance employment prospects in the province. He encouraged both job seekers and employers to register on the platform, stating that when talent and opportunities align, the province will witness substantial progress.
He further announced that job advertisements for grades 1 to 4 would be accessible via the portal, whereas recruitment for grades 5 to 15 would be conducted transparently through the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Murad Ali Shah stressed that ensuring fairness in recruitment remains a top priority for the Sindh government.
The chief minister also highlighted the ongoing efforts to provide relief to those affected by natural disasters, particularly the recent floods. He reaffirmed that the PPP continues to be the largest political party in Sindh, working towards the welfare of its people. In line with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, the Sindh government has initiated a housing project for flood victims, aiming to construct 2.1 million homes, with over 800,000 homes already completed.
Murad Ali Shah concluded by asserting that if the number of homes built for flood victims were considered a country, it would surpass 800 nations in the world. He urged the people of Sindh to take full advantage of the job portal, marking this initiative as a significant step towards a more prosperous and self-reliant province.
