Sony BRAVIA TVs Bring Zoom Video Conferencing Home

Sony has announced a new partnership with Zoom Video Communications, Inc., bringing the popular video conferencing platform to Sony’s BRAVIA TVs.

This collaboration allows users to conveniently connect with friends, family, and colleagues for video calls and meetings right from their living rooms. Sony’s BRAVIA is proud to be the first TV brand supporting the Zoom for TV app on the Google Play Store.

By incorporating Zoom into BRAVIA TVs, users can take full advantage of the platform’s extensive features, solidifying its position as a leading video communication tool. This includes seamless video communication on a large TV screen, screen sharing capabilities, and collaborative tools.

In addition, users can leverage BRAVIA CAM’s advanced features, which intelligently adjust sound and picture settings based on the user’s position and distance from the TV. The setup process is incredibly simple—users with a compatible TV and BRAVIA CAM need only download the Zoom app from Google Play and launch it using the TV’s remote control.

Shusuke Tomonaga, Head of BRAVIA TV Product Design at Sony Corporation’s Product Technology Center, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are excited to partner with Zoom to bring video conferencing to our BRAVIA TVs, making Zoom services available on the Android TV platform.

This collaboration will enable our customers to experience more immersive video communication on a large TV screen in their living rooms, fostering stronger connections with their loved ones, whether they are working remotely, engaging in remote learning, or simply catching up with friends and family.”

Eric Yu, Head of Hardware Partnership at Zoom, also shared his excitement: “We are thrilled to work with Sony to bring Zoom to their BRAVIA TVs. This integration allows our customers to enjoy the best of both worlds—the convenience of video conferencing on their TVs and the powerful collaboration tools offered by Zoom.”

Zoom will be available on select BRAVIA TVs compatible with BRAVIA CAM starting early this summer.
