Kaleemullah Siddiqui to hear appeals by Bank Makramah and JS Bank under Sindh Sales Tax on Services law
KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has appointed Commissioner (Appeals-II) Kaleemullah Siddiqui to hear appeals filed by two commercial banks against Orders-in-Original issued under the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011.
According to an official notification issued by the SRB, Kaleemullah Siddiqui has been authorised to adjudicate the appeals filed under Section 57 of the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011.
The appeals relate to the following cases:
• M/s Bank Makramah – Appeal No. 5148/2026, filed on May 14, 2026.
• M/s JS Bank Limited – Appeal No. 4776/2026, filed on March 16, 2026.
Both appeals challenge the respective Orders-in-Original issued by the tax authority and will now be heard by the designated Commissioner (Appeals-II).
Section 57 of the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011 provides taxpayers with the right to file appeals against adjudication orders before the competent appellate authority.
The appointment is part of the SRB’s administrative process to ensure the timely disposal of tax appeals and provide an appropriate legal forum for resolving disputes arising under the provincial sales tax law.
The proceedings will determine the legality of the contested tax orders in accordance with applicable provincial tax laws and appellate procedures.
