SRB Launches Prize Scheme to Encourage POS Invoice Reporting

Karachi, December 30, 2024 – In a bid to promote transparency and compliance, the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has announced an exciting prize scheme aimed at encouraging individuals to report invoices issued through the Point of Sale (POS) system.

This initiative is designed to enhance the adoption of SRB-POS invoices and further streamline tax collection across various sectors.

The SRB revealed that the first draw of the POS invoice reporting scheme will take place in the last week of February 2025. Participants in the scheme will have the chance to win a range of attractive prizes. The grand prize will be a 70CC motorcycle, while the second prize will be a refrigerator, and the third prize will be a SMART TV. In addition to these, the SRB has announced other enticing rewards, including smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and various cash prizes.

To take part in the lucky draw, the SRB encourages the public to verify their POS invoices using the eSRB Mobile App or by visiting the SRB website. Only invoices issued from January 1, 2025, will be eligible for inclusion in the draw. The SRB further clarified that computerized balloting will be conducted on a quarterly basis, giving individuals multiple opportunities to win throughout the year.

The introduction of this prize scheme comes as part of SRB’s ongoing efforts to ensure that POS invoices are consistently issued by restaurants, beauty parlors, and other businesses operating within Sindh. The SRB is urging customers to always request and verify SRB-POS invoices when making purchases at these establishments, particularly restaurants and beauty parlors, where such invoices are not always provided.

By incentivizing the reporting of SRB-POS invoices, the SRB aims to foster a culture of compliance and improve tax transparency. The prize scheme is expected to drive public participation, helping the SRB achieve its goal of enhancing tax collection and curbing tax evasion in the region. Through this initiative, the SRB is taking significant steps toward building a more efficient and transparent taxation system in Sindh.
