Stocks end down by 352 points on economic woes

KARACHI: Pakistan stocks ended down by 352 points on Tuesday due to deteriorated economic conditions.

The benchmark KSE-100 index of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended at 39,803 points from previous day’s closing of 41,155 points, showing a decline of 352 points.

Muhammad Arbash, analyst at Topline Securities said lack of confidence over Pakistan economy and delayed IMF program led the market to witnessed profit taking where market make an intraday low of 449 points.

Major negative contributors in today’s trading session were EFERT, UBL, OGDC, ENGRO and SYS cumulatively dented the Index by 151 points.

Traded volume and value for the day stood at 153.72 million shares (up 5 per cent) and Rs5.53 billion (up 8 per cent) on Day-on-Day (DoD) basis, respectively.

BAFL was today`s volume leader with 16.3 million shares.
