Taylor Dominates to Win Third Eastbourne Title

American tennis star Taylor Fritz rewrote the record books at the Eastbourne International, clinching his third championship title at the prestigious tournament.

Ranked number one, Fritz overpowered Australian qualifier Max Purcell in straight sets (6-3, 6-4), extending his flawless run at Eastbourne without dropping a single set throughout the entire event.

Fritz unleashed a dominant serving performance on grass, firing nine aces in the final match. Purcell, ranked a lowly 94th in the world, defied expectations by battling through qualifiers and reaching the main draw. However, Fritz’s superior firepower proved too much to handle.

This victory at Devonshire Park marks Fritz’s eighth ATP Tour title and his second win of 2024.  He’s in peak form heading into the highly anticipated Wimbledon Championships, which kick off on Monday.

Mallorca Sees British-American Triumph in Doubles

Meanwhile, on the courts of Mallorca, a British-American duo emerged victorious in the doubles competition at the Mallorca Championships. Julian Cash of Great Britain and American Robert Galloway dominated the final, defeating Ecuador’s Diego Hidalgo and Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo with a convincing 6-4, 6-4 scoreline.

While Tabilo fell short in the doubles final, he bounced back to secure the Mallorca Championships singles title. Tabilo defeated Austria’s Sebastian Ofner in straight sets (6-3, 6-4), showcasing his own impressive skills on the court.
