Taylor Swift has expressed excitement ahead of the global release of Toy Story 5, sharing a series of personal posts on Instagram that included rare behind-the-scenes footage from the recording studio.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner posted a carousel of images and videos on Thursday, celebrating her involvement in the animated sequel and highlighting her work on the film’s end-credit song.
Swift Shares Studio Moments and Childhood Memories
The post featured a rare studio video showing Swift discussing the creative process behind the track, alongside childhood photographs of the singer with her brother Austin Swift, both themed around the Toy Story universe.
Swift also included images from the film’s premiere and recording sessions, offering fans a glimpse into the production of the soundtrack.
In the video, Swift described an intense creative day that began with watching the film and quickly turned into an impromptu songwriting session inspired by it.
New Song Marks Return to Country Influence
Swift’s contribution to Toy Story 5 includes the track I Knew It, I Knew It, which has been described as a return to her country music roots.
The song was reportedly written and recorded in a single day after Swift visited an early screening of the film.
She said the creative process moved quickly, with production and vocals completed within hours before executives from Disney and Pixar reviewed the final version.
Country Radio Milestone
Following its release, I Knew It, I Knew It achieved significant traction on country radio, reportedly being added across 157 Mediabase-tracked stations.
According to Variety, the achievement is a rare milestone in the industry and has only occurred a few times, and never previously by a female artist.
The success has further fuelled speculation about Swift’s renewed connection with country music after more than a decade away from the genre.
Swift Reflects on Creative Experience
In her post, Swift described the day as one of the most memorable of her career, calling the experience of writing and recording the song “one of the most fun days” she has ever had.
She also noted the fast-paced nature of the production, explaining that she had only hours between inspiration and a scheduled playback session for Disney and Pixar executives.
Toy Story 5 is set for worldwide theatrical release on Friday, June 19, 2026.
