Country music legend Alan Jackson brought his touring career to a close with an emotional sold-out performance in Nashville on June 27, as fellow artists and fans paid tribute to one of the genre’s most influential figures.
The 67-year-old singer-songwriter took the stage at Nissan Stadium for Alan Jackson: Last Call – The Finale, marking the final concert of his touring career after decades of chart-topping success.
Several leading country music stars, including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Lainey Wilson, shared video tributes and personal stories about Jackson’s impact on their careers.
Among those honouring the country music icon was Taylor Swift. In a pre-recorded video message shown on the stadium screens, Swift thanked Jackson for supporting artists and songwriters throughout his career.
“I appreciate you so much for the ways that you have treated me and the other artists and writers with just such support and encouragement over the years,” Swift said in the tribute.
The appearance of Swift’s message prompted a mixed reaction inside the venue, with some attendees reportedly booing as the video played. Clips of the moment quickly circulated on social media, where many fans criticised the response and defended the pop star’s tribute to Jackson.

Jackson announced his retirement from touring in 2025 during the final stop of his Last Call: One More for the Road tour. The decision was influenced by his ongoing battle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a hereditary neurological condition that affects muscle strength, balance and mobility.
