Thundershower Expected in Islamabad and Other Regions on August 11, 2023

Islamabad, August 10, 2023 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of thundershower in Islamabad and several other regions of the country on August 11, 2023.

While most parts of the country are expected to experience hot and humid weather, the PMD has forecasted rain, wind, and thundershowers in specific areas on August 11, 2023. The regions expected to be affected include northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Additionally, gusty winds capable of raising dust are anticipated in central and southern parts of the country.

The PMD’s assessment of the synoptic situation indicates the infiltration of moist currents from the Arabian Sea into central and upper parts of Pakistan, which contributes to the potential for thundershowers in the aforementioned regions.
