Islamabad, September 14, 2023 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of thundershowers in southeastern Sindh on Friday, September 15, 2023.

Additionally, isolated thundershowers are anticipated in various regions, including the Potohar region, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas.

In its latest daily weather report, the PMD highlighted that most plain areas of Pakistan are poised to experience hot and humid weather conditions. This forecast comes as part of the ongoing monitoring of the nation’s ever-changing weather patterns.

The synoptic situation, as elucidated by the met office, suggests that continental air is currently prevailing over most parts of Pakistan. Furthermore, a shallow westerly wave has been identified over the upper regions, which could contribute to the expected precipitation.

Over the last 24 hours, Pakistan experienced a range of weather conditions. Hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while rainfall was recorded in various locations. Notable amounts of precipitation were reported in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with some of the areas affected including Lahore, Chakwal, Murre, Narowal, and Dir.

As for temperature extremes, Bhakkar, Chilas, and Dalbandin recorded the highest maximum temperatures, all soaring to 42°C. These scorching temperatures have underscored the importance of staying updated on weather developments and taking necessary precautions to mitigate potential risks.
