Tom Holland and Zendaya backed for Hercules and Megara roles

Susan Egan, who voiced Megara in Disney’s animated classic, has named Zendaya as her dream choice for the live-action role.

Tom Holland and Zendaya are emerging as fan favourites for the leading roles in Disney’s upcoming live-action Hercules, with the couple now receiving support from one of the original film’s stars.

Susan Egan, who voiced Megara in Disney’s 1997 animated classic, has added her voice to the growing speculation surrounding the remake’s cast. Disney has yet to officially announce the actors who will play Hercules and Megara.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Egan revealed that Zendaya would be her dream choice to portray Megara in the live-action adaptation.

Egan highlighted several qualities she believes would make Zendaya well suited to the role, including her charisma, confidence and singing abilities. Those qualities, she suggested, could help the actress bring the sharp-witted heroine to life in a live-action setting.

Megara is known for her independent personality, confidence and razor-sharp humour, making the character’s attitude an important part of any potential portrayal.

Egan also emphasised the importance of sarcasm and charisma for whoever ultimately takes on the role. The actress believes the right performer would need to capture Megara’s distinctive wit while maintaining the character’s strong personality.

While Zendaya has not been confirmed for the role, her name has become part of the ongoing speculation surrounding Disney’s live-action Hercules. Holland has likewise been linked by fan speculation with the role of Hercules, although there has been no official casting announcement.

The potential pairing has generated interest because Holland and Zendaya are already one of Hollywood’s most prominent couples, having worked together in the Spider-Man franchise.

Disney’s live-action Hercules remains in development and currently has no confirmed release date.
