Tom Holland has revealed that Marvel fans may have correctly predicted some key details about the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The actor shared the update during an interview with Vanity Fair France while promoting the highly anticipated Marvel blockbuster, which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas later this year.
Holland admitted that several fan theories circulating online are surprisingly close to the film’s actual storyline.
“Some of the wildest fan theories are weirdly accurate to what is happening in the movie,” Holland said, referring to the intense speculation that has followed the release of the film’s first trailer.
Marvel fans have spent months dissecting every frame of the preview, developing theories about the plot, potential villains and the mystery character portrayed by actress Sadie Sink.
Despite acknowledging that some theories have come remarkably close to the truth, Holland refused to reveal which ones are accurate.
“I don’t want to give any fuel to the flames before the movie comes out,” he said, adding that his “lips are sealed.”
Zendaya, who reprises her role as MJ in the upcoming film, also shared her thoughts on fan speculation. The actress said she enjoys reading the creative theories that fans post online.
“What Tom and I enjoy is looking at people’s fan theories,” Zendaya said. “Some are spot on, some are really far off and some have really great ideas.”
Among the most popular theories is the suggestion that Peter Parker may undergo a physical mutation during the film. Others believe Sadie Sink could be portraying Jean Grey, a powerful character from the X-Men universe.
Fans have also speculated that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil could return following his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Meanwhile, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, whose involvement has already been confirmed, is expected by many viewers to play a significant role in the story.
Another widely discussed theory suggests that Peter Parker could finally reunite with MJ and Ned after the events of No Way Home, which ended with Doctor Strange’s spell erasing their memories of him.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to be released on July 29, 2026. The film is expected to become Peter Parker’s longest solo adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
