Vin Diesel Supports LA Amid Fires, Fast X Return

Vin Diesel has shown his unwavering support for Los Angeles following the devastation caused by recent wildfires, emphasizing his commitment to the city that has played a significant role in the Fast and Furious franchise.

Amid the catastrophic fires that displaced many residents in LA, the actor took to Instagram on January 22 to share a touching post, offering his solidarity and reflecting on the impact of the disaster.

Diesel shared an image of him hugging his Fast and Furious co-star Jordana Brewster, who plays his sister Mia Toretto in the series. In his post, Diesel revealed that Brewster had reached out to him during the chaos, urging him to advocate for the remaining filming of Fast X: Part 2 to take place in Los Angeles. She expressed her desire for the beloved franchise to continue its connection to the city that helped launch it all.

“Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X Part 2 in LA,” Diesel wrote, conveying the deep affection both he and Brewster have for the city. He also noted, “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever,” emphasizing the importance of bringing the franchise back home, especially considering the historical roots of Fast and Furious in the city. “Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago… And now Fast will finally return home,” he added with a sense of pride.

Brewster, in turn, expressed her agreement in the comments section, writing, “Our home” along with a heart emoji, reinforcing their shared sentiment about the significance of LA to both the franchise and the cast.

Fast X: Part 2 is set to follow up on the 2023 installment, Fast X, and rumors suggest that this upcoming film could potentially be the final chapter in the franchise, which began with the 2001 hit, The Fast and the Furious.
