Vin Diesel Teases New Fast & Furious Prequel

Vin Diesel has just thrilled Fast & Furious fans with an exciting update about the franchise’s future. As anticipation builds for the next installment,

Vin Diesel has confirmed that a new film is in the works and might even arrive before the second part of Fast X.

The last movie in the high-octane action series was released in 2023, introducing Jason Momoa as the formidable antagonist, Dante Reyes. The film ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving fans eager to see how the saga unfolds. Now, Vin Diesel has dropped hints about an upcoming project tied to the franchise’s grand finale.

Taking to Instagram, Vin Diesel shared that the studio has asked him to direct a precursor to the final chapter, much like he did in the past. He recalled a similar request made after the filming of Fast & Furious (2009), when the studio wanted him to direct Los Bandoleros, a short film explaining Dom’s whereabouts between the first and fourth movies.

“The studio asked me to direct the precursor to the film, to explain where Dom had been in between the first and the fourth film. It was called Los Bandoleros,” wrote Vin Diesel in his post.

He went on to reveal that history is repeating itself, as the studio has now requested another precursor—this time leading up to the grand finale.

“Now, all these years later, the request has come in again for me to direct the precursor to the finale. Because it is now the world’s saga, I am encouraged to film somewhere else, truly [peculiar]…” he continued.

Although Vin Diesel did not disclose many details about the upcoming project, he hinted at a breathtaking filming location. Fans speculate that he may be referring to the Middle Eastern desert landscapes previously used in Furious 7.

With Vin Diesel at the helm, excitement for the Fast franchise’s next chapter is at an all-time high. Whether it’s a precursor or the highly anticipated sequel, fans can expect another thrilling ride filled with action, speed, and family—true to Vin Diesel’s signature style.
