The vivo V50 has officially debuted in India, bringing subtle yet notable upgrades over its predecessor, the V40.
The latest model boasts a larger 6,000mAh battery, faster 90W wired charging, and a modernized design, making it a compelling choice in the premium mid-range segment.
Display and Design Enhancements
The vivo V50 retains a 6.77-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. However, this iteration features a quad-curved design with a more refined curvature, enhancing both aesthetics and usability.
The screen is protected by Diamond Shield Glass, which vivo claims offers superior drop resistance compared to the V40. Additionally, the display achieves an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility in all lighting conditions.
Performance and Storage Options
Under the hood, the vivo V50 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, delivering efficient performance for gaming and multitasking. The device offers up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. However, users should note that there is no expandable storage option available.
Advanced Camera Setup
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple 50MP camera system developed in collaboration with Zeiss optics. The primary 50MP shooter (23mm equivalent) comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for sharp and steady shots.
The device also includes a 50MP ultrawide sensor with autofocus and a high-resolution 50MP front-facing camera for detailed selfies and video calls.
Software and Durability
The vivo V50 runs on Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15, offering a smooth and feature-rich experience. Vivo promises three major Android updates and four years of security patches, ensuring long-term software support. Additionally, the smartphone holds an IP68/69 rating, making it resistant to dust and water. An optical fingerprint sensor is embedded in the display for secure and convenient unlocking.
Pricing and Availability
The vivo V50 is available in three stylish colors: Rose Red, Starry Night, and Titanium Grey. Pricing starts at INR 34,999 ($403) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, while the top-tier 12GB RAM + 512GB variant is priced at INR 40,999 ($472).
