Wimbledon 2025 Offers Record-Breaking £53.5M Prize Money

Wimbledon 2025 is set to be the most lucrative in the tournament’s 147-year history, with organizers announcing a record-breaking total prize pool of £53.5 million.

This marks a 7% increase from last year’s £50 million and more than double the prize money awarded in 2015 — a reflection of the sport’s continued global growth and the tournament’s elite status in tennis.

The biggest individual payouts will go to the champions in the men’s and women’s singles, who will each pocket a massive £3 million — an 11% rise from 2024’s £2.7 million.

Last year, Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova lifted the iconic Wimbledon trophies, and whoever follows in their footsteps this year will enjoy both glory and a financial windfall.

Importantly, the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) has expanded the prize money increases across all rounds, including early exits.

First-round losers in the singles draw will now receive £66,000, a 10% bump aimed at supporting lower-ranked players who often struggle with travel and coaching costs.

Doubles players also benefit from the prize money hike. The men’s and women’s doubles winners will earn £680,000, a 4% increase, while mixed doubles champions will collect £135,000, up 3% from last year. This demonstrates Wimbledon’s ongoing effort to elevate the prestige and financial reward of doubles competition.a

Wimbledon 2025 is not just about money — it’s also embracing modern technology. For the first time, live electronic line calling will be used across all courts, replacing the traditional line judges.

Over 400 high-speed cameras will be in operation, aiming to enhance accuracy and reduce human error in match officiating. After successful trials in 2024, this innovation marks a historic shift in how matches are judged at SW19.

The tournament is scheduled to run from June 30 to July 13, and with the combination of record prize money and groundbreaking technology, Wimbledon 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark edition.

Tennis fans worldwide can expect high drama, precision officiating, and fierce competition as the world’s top stars compete for glory on the sport’s most iconic grass courts.
