Wolvaardt Leads South Africa in Multi-Format Clash with Australia

Laura Wolvaardt is set to lead the 15-member South African squad in a thrilling multi-format series against Australia. The squad includes Marizanne Kapp and the returning Chloé Tryon, currently showcasing their skills in the ongoing Big Bash League in Australia.

Adding to the excitement, Ayanda Hlubi, who recently made her mark in the T20I series against Bangladesh, has earned her maiden ODI call-up. South Africa is gearing up to take on Australia, having not secured a single win in the 15 ODIs and seven T20Is played between the two cricketing powerhouses.

The series will also witness a historic first-ever Test match between South Africa and Australia from 15-18 February. Clinton du Preez, the South Africa Women Convenor of Selectors, highlighted the importance of Chloé Tryon’s return, emphasizing her wealth of experience and match-winning skills as crucial for South Africa’s chances.

The South Africa tour of Australia is scheduled to kick off on 27 January and run through 18 February, featuring three T20Is, three ODIs, and the historic Test match.

The South Africa squad for the upcoming cricket series is led by Laura Wolvaardt, featuring a formidable lineup including Anneke Bosch, Tazmin Brits, Nadine de Klerk, Mieke de Ridder, Ayanda Hlubi, Sinalo Jafta, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Suné Luus, Eliz-Mari Marx, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Chloé Tryon, and Delmi Tucker.

Save the dates for this action-packed series, which includes the T20I Series starting with the 1st T20I at Manuka Oval, Canberra on January 27, followed by the 2nd T20I on January 28, and the 3rd T20I at Bellerive Oval, Hobart on January 30.

The ODI Series kicks off with the 1st ODI at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on February 03, followed by the 2nd ODI at North Sydney Oval, Sydney on February 07, and the 3rd ODI at North Sydney Oval, Sydney on February 10. The series concludes with the Only Test at WACA Ground, Perth, from February 15 to 18.
