Xiaomi’s new wide foldable features dual 120Hz displays, XRing 03 chip and a 200MP Leica camera
Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China after showcasing the company’s first wide-format foldable at IFA 2026. The new smartphone combines a compact outer display with a larger internal panel, powerful hardware and a versatile camera system.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold features a 5.38-inch cover screen with a 1,712 x 1,168 resolution and a 7.58-inch internal display offering 2,364 x 1,672 resolution. Both panels support adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and can reach up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
The inner display has a 2:1 aspect ratio and includes an anti-reflective film. Xiaomi has also used a dual-layer ultra-thin glass structure for the foldable panel. The company claims this makes the screen 178 per cent stronger and 29 per cent more impact-resistant compared with the Mix Fold 4.
Despite its large displays, the Xiaomi 18 Fold weighs 219 grams and measures 10.68mm thick when folded. It is available in Black, Warm Gold White and Nishino Red finishes. Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 protects the cover screen and rear panel, while IP58 and IP59 ratings provide added resistance against dust and water.
Under the hood, the foldable is powered by Xiaomi’s in-house XRing 03 chipset, paired with between 12GB and 16GB of RAM. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB.
The phone also packs a 6,000mAh battery, significantly larger than the 4,400mAh battery found in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Charging support includes 67W wired charging, 50W PPS and 50W wireless charging.
Photography is handled by a Leica-branded triple rear camera system comprising a 200MP f/1.7 main sensor, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB 3.2 Gen 2, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, UWB and an IR blaster.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold starts at 10,999 yuan (around $1,639) in China. A limited ceramic edition costs 15,999 yuan (around $2,384), with only 1,500 units available. Xiaomi has yet to confirm international availability.
