New range-extended SUVs offer up to 1,705 km combined range, premium comfort features, and advanced AI-assisted driving technology.
Xiaomi has officially started presales of its new Skynomad N70 and N90 range-extended crossover SUVs in China, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion into the highly competitive electric vehicle market.
The new models combine long driving ranges, advanced technology, and premium comfort features, with prices starting from 259,900 yuan ($38,410).
The Xiaomi Skynomad lineup consists of two models: the large N70 crossover and the flagship full-size N90.
Both vehicles are built on Xiaomi’s self-developed Kunlun platform and utilize a range-extender powertrain featuring a 1.5-liter gasoline engine sourced from Changan subsidiary Dongan.
The engine delivers 150 horsepower and functions primarily as a generator to power the battery and electric motors. Xiaomi claims fuel consumption of just 6.26 liters per 100 kilometers while supporting multiple fuel grades.
Customers can choose between a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by Sunwoda and a larger 76 kWh ternary NMC battery from CALB.
The N70 is available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, producing up to 416 horsepower. The crossover delivers an electric-only driving range of up to 505 kilometers under CLTC testing standards.
The larger Skynomad N90 Max offers an electric range of 464 kilometers and a remarkable combined driving range of up to 1,705 kilometers.
Fast-charging capability allows the battery to recharge from 20% to 80% in only 18 minutes, while a 15-minute DC charge can add approximately 285 kilometers of range.
Safety is another key highlight of the N90 Max. Xiaomi states that 90.4% of the vehicle’s structure is made from high-strength steel and aluminum alloy, reinforced with ultra-strong 2,200 MPa steel in critical areas.
The SUV also incorporates a one-piece hot-formed door ring spanning all three seating rows to improve structural rigidity and occupant protection.
On the technology front, both Skynomad models feature Nvidia’s Thor-assisted driving chip with 700 TOPS computing power, roof-mounted LiDAR, AI voice controls, dual 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a premium 25-speaker audio system delivering 4,890 watts of output.
Inside, the N90 Max focuses heavily on passenger comfort. The seven-seat SUV features a 2+2+3 seating arrangement, rotating front seats, an optional center table, and zero-gravity seats with 16-point massage functions. Xiaomi says the cabin can transform into a lounge-like space for family travel.
The N70 measures 4,960 mm in length with a 2,950 mm wheelbase, while the larger N90 stretches to 5,285 mm with a 3,080 mm wheelbase. Xiaomi has priced the N90 Max at 299,900 yuan ($44,320), with deliveries expected to begin in September 2026.
The Skynomad models will compete against offerings from major Chinese brands such as BYD, Li Auto, Aito, Denza, Voyah, Deepal, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr.
Despite slowing growth in China’s range-extended EV segment, Xiaomi remains optimistic, supported by strong momentum after recording vehicle sales of 185,055 units during the first half of 2026, representing a 17.2% year-on-year increase.
