Xpeng to Unveil Modular Flying Car at CES 2025 in Las Vegas

Xpeng AeroHT, the flying car division of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng, is set to unveil its groundbreaking Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC) at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas.

This innovative modular vehicle combines a three-axle ground vehicle, known as the “Mothership,” with an integrated two-seater flying unit.

The LAC, designed to redefine the future of personal mobility, is scheduled for mass production in 2026 and comes with a price tag of approximately $280,000.

Despite its premium pricing, the vehicle has already garnered over 2,000 pre-orders, reflecting its strong appeal among early adopters of cutting-edge technology.

Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng has personally tested the vehicle, and recent road trials further demonstrate its readiness for public deployment.

The unveiling at CES 2025 marks a strategic move by Xpeng to establish itself as a global leader in the emerging flying car industry. Although the company has not yet confirmed plans for a North American launch, the high-profile event offers a significant opportunity to enhance brand recognition and capture global attention.

The LAC features a unique “Mothership” design, a large three-axle electric vehicle powered by an extended-range engine. This engine acts as a generator, supplying energy to the battery and electric motors, enabling an impressive driving range of over 1,000 kilometers.

The flying unit, integrated seamlessly into the Mothership, can be deployed at the push of a button. Once detached, it can perform multiple flights on a single charge, with the Mothership’s advanced 800V high-voltage system enabling rapid battery recharging.

The flying unit accommodates two passengers and offers both manual and autonomous flight modes, making it versatile for various user preferences. This dual functionality of ground and aerial transportation underscores the LAC’s potential to revolutionize mobility solutions.

Xpeng’s decision to showcase the LAC at CES 2025 highlights its dedication to pushing the boundaries of transportation innovation. By integrating advanced electric vehicle technology with aviation, Xpeng aims to redefine how people travel in urban and intercity environments.

The unveiling is expected to generate substantial interest in both the automotive and technology sectors, further positioning Xpeng as a key player in the futuristic flying car market.
