In the latest safety assessment by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2024 Kia Telluride and Sportage have both secured prestigious safety ratings.
The Telluride clinched the highest accolade, the TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating, while the Sportage earned the TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) rating. These ratings recognize the vehicles for their exceptional protection for occupants, vehicles, and vulnerable road users.
The IIHS introduced stricter criteria in 2023, and in 2024, they raised the bar even higher to ensure enhanced safety standards. This includes improved protection for back-seat passengers and upgraded pedestrian crash avoidance systems.
To qualify for these ratings, vehicles must now excel in side protection tests and demonstrate effective pedestrian front crash prevention, including nighttime performance.
Moreover, the moderate front overlap test has been revised to include a second dummy behind the driver’s seat, further emphasizing safety standards.
Steve Center, COO and EVP of Kia America, expressed full support for IIHS’s efforts to bolster road safety. He emphasized Kia’s dedication to meeting these rigorous standards and highlighted safety as a top priority.
The 2024 Telluride SUV stands out with its striking design, spacious cabin accommodating up to eight passengers, and advanced safety features including Highway Driving Assist 2.0.
The Telluride is not the only star of the Kia lineup; the 2024 Sportage offers a diverse range of models catering to various preferences.
From the rugged X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige trims, equipped with off-road features like all-terrain tires, to the eco-friendly Sportage HEV and Sportage PHEV models, Kia continues to provide options tailored to different drivers’ needs.
With their top safety ratings and innovative features, the 2024 Kia Telluride and Sportage reinforce Kia’s commitment to excellence in safety and driving experience.
