Honda’s Commitment to Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology

Honda’s commitment to hydrogen fuel cell technology dates back over two decades, starting with the Honda FCX in 2002. The FCX was the world’s first zero-emission FCEV to receive certification for everyday use from both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and it was the first FCEV leased to individual customers.

The 2025 Honda CR-V e represents the latest in Honda’s pioneering efforts in the hydrogen fuel cell market, combining advanced technology, environmental sustainability, and practical usability for the modern driver.
